- What is red diesel and what can I use it for?
Red Diesel is exactly the same as normal road diesel except it has had a red dye added to it. Red diesel has a lower tax on it and can only be used for off road purposes.
- What is the tax on red diesel?
The vat on red diesel for home use is 5%. On commerial use the vat is 5% up to 2300 litres and 20% over that.
