Getting the Best Heating Oil Prices

How much oil should I order?

Most suppliers will have a price break at 900 litres so if possible order 900. The next price break is normally at 1500 litres.

I would like to order for myself and my neighbours, can I do this?

Yes, you should look at joining a oil buying group if you wish to get discounts from joinging together. Or if you wish to do it your self most suppliers will offer a small discount for ordering at the same time as it lowers transport costs for them. Please explain who you are getting a quote for in the comments box when getting a quote on compare fuel oil.

I need a smaller tanker than standard. Will there be an extra cost?

Not normally but please let the supplier know when filling out the quote form on our site to get a quote.

When should I order?

Heating oil is normally cheapest in the summer months and most expensive in the winter months. So stock up in the summer when you can.

Why do prices change so often?

Mainly down to supply and demand, which can include a very large number of facts, the usual reason why oil prices get so high in the winter is simply because everyone is ordering at the same time, many leave it to the last moment and suppliers get filled up with orders and are therefore able to raise there prices.
